Specialized Services
Transportation
Passenger safety and comfort are our top priorities. We maintain a high level of saftey standards by
keeping our transportation staff up-to-date with safety training and by keeping our bus fleet as young
as possible. Our 19 drivers, 7 sub-drivers, and 17 bus aides have been trained in CPR, First Aid, and
other emergency training. They are also required to go through a recertification process every 6 years, which includes a BCI and fingerprinting. Our transporation fleet consists of 6 vans and 22 buses. Our buses offer wheelchair lifts and accessibility and are higher in price than ordinary school buses by apx. $6000 - $7000.
Special Olympics
Children and adults, ages 8 and older, who have mental retardation may be interested in participating in the Special Olympics program. Special Olympics is an international athletic and recreational program, designed to enhance the self-image of participants through athletic competition. Children and adults compete with others who have similar ability levels. For additional information on participating in the Special Olympics as an athlete or a volunteer, contact Tom Andrix at 330-532-1796.
